Over 50% don't like it from one poll and I believe 15-20-25% said not buy or at least considering not purchasing because of it. There's more and more games vying for this space monthly, even weekly - I was shocked looking for competitors recently, a lot has moved in since I sunk into GW.

The fact is until chapter2 we didn't know ANets plans. Now a lot of us can clearly see we're going to be running into artificial walls. Lots of crazy figures and spouting and carrying on about GBs, marketing and what not. But here's something plainly evident - it won't get any better without a shake-up of thought at the top.

Over half of those polled don't like it - you're penalized for continuing on in the game, you have less room to do what you want had you started fresh. And for an expansion, the next chapter, however you want to spin it, if you're going to get on the treadmill it's not particularly fun to hit that every step of the way. There's a lot of people that say most will still buy. I'm not sure whether to applause your enthusiam or dispel your ignorance.

This isn't a one-time occurrence, it's quite plain it will be deficient in slots from now on, one can't just trust in ANet to 'do the right thing' as many hoped they would, and tried to post a turn around when it appeared they wouldn't. And here we are. Meanwhile it could be fixed by addressing the initial shortage one time, and then they hook people back up on the treadmill.
The fascinating thing is it's not looking like that will happen (at this point anyways, I used to care but I'm a bit numb to it now).

So easy re-cap - no discount for continuing users, and even less new space to work with. Such simple concepts, and such odd responses (I had happily missed Lovitars babbling now in bold and caps until today).

Everyone knows the Brady Bunch right? What happens when the lady met this fellow? They bought a big house and moved in together. Would either of them put an addition onto their condo for only 2 of the kids, yet paid the same price of a new house? No you'd get the new house. Now imagine ANet stepping in - OK, but you can't converse, act like you know eachother or work together, that's cheating and breaking balance In Our Vision (TM).
But you're getting even MORE, really truly, by going the condo route - we'll allow you to live and work together, just sell off Cindy and Bobby. Ca-ca.

And meanwhile eulas and fansites wont' allow for easy talk or passing along some very capable accounts to those who'd gladly take them for win-win trades all around. So no you don't see a lot of that chatter - what's the point, it'd be taken over by trolls, and a bit of it wouldn't even be allowed.

Yep ya did. Big time. Many families with multiple accounts want to play with family members through the game. And we do unlocks or PvP too. Or we try to, and that's where all the trouble starts.

I like how noone can see outside their own little world. Yes some of us will have to quit as the model is a horrible mess. So I should buy two copies and all chapters for all household members because... why? Much cheaper to go to a competitor even with a monthly fee at that point, it'll cost less for that much more content.

And to another point they've mentioned the GW:P world will be left to itself. Most MMORPGs don't do that, expanding on all over the place.

I'm not dissatisfied with my personal time with GW:P, far from it. But am I very dissatisified with their feeling they can limit us in such a matter - a lot of us have been waiting a long time to get some character slot breathing room. Instead we find out linking will give us no more space if you were already so squeezed and wanted to play the new two - and I love the fact they would have gone with one originally. Such a classy move for their fans.

I'll said this once before but I'll repeat it - I've played games since pong. I've played better and I've played worse than GW. I'll play worse again. I'll play better again. I just was ready to go the distance (or certainly onward) until I've now found out they'll obviously keep us short throughout the chapter run.

That's not acceptable. Nor is proving to the doubters some stuff goes up on the chopping block

Shrug. I'd rather not with close to 1k hours logged. But I did it with a 3yr EQ account when it was that time. And I'll do it again here. I just had hoped it wouldn't be that time so soon, and because of such a silly decision on their part. And it's oooh so great if it doesn't effect you. I'm glad and I can understand that for you. What I don't get is how some of you can be so simple-minded not to see it will force players out, and not because they're silly, but because it doesn't make sense to keep on.

No matter what math or model they or you wanna pull outta yer arse.
No don't give us 24 slots for 6 chapters but do fix the original inequity.

They've already cut down my household buy - I won't get two expansions to boot - unlinked is silly IMO. There are other options however I'm considering I never would have had they not played this game with my game. Like playing these standalones on their own merit as I like, unloading my UAS. If you do the math (a lot of you like too) they lost 2 re-occuring subscriptions and I'll likely find the next game I want to stick too.

But yeah my household won't link at all now and I certainly won't continue to encourage my wife or friends to play - 2 of them already left. Yeah whatever.

OK. There are six people for 8 slots. About 170 people posted on this thread... therefore I suppose about 164 want 6 and 6 slots only.

So those are 164 people out of 2 million. Not a large percentage, eh?

Yes, I will tell them that GW is a great game…but I will also explain to them how piss I am that Anet is screwing their loyal customers by penalizing them when they merge accounts. Therefore, I'm not really recommending the game to them.

These numbers are only stating whether people would merge, not merge, undecided or not buy the game at all. It doesn't take into account whether people are satisfied with the 2 extra slots, so this poll is meaningless to YOUR STANCE.

BTW, I did vote on that poll and I voted "merge".

Again, your polls doesn't prove a damn thing and doesn't back up your stance (95% of PVE players are happy with 2 slots). If you're going to put polls up, at least post up what the damn question, source, and translate it to english.

I'm assuming these polls are only asking whether people will buy or not buy. Just because people will buy Ch.2, doesn't mean they are satisfied with 2 slots.....so you're STILL WRONG with your stance.

Some interesting replies lately.

Seems the issue at hand keeps getting twisted a bit. The issue isn't whether or not people will buy Factions or not (though I read some will not), it's why Anet will not give us access to all the content and playability that we should have.

Four slots allowed me to go through the GW:P four times. Four times I had a blast. Therefore I am looking forward to playing Anet wonder looking new chapter. Two new slots allows me to play through Factions twice. Yea yea yea, I can go through the new chapters with my four level 20s... but why? It's like telling me to go run through Ascalon with them. Talk about boring.
I, and many others it would seem, consider part of the fun in getting new armor and gear. Not true? Explain 15k and FoW to me then. In getting Factions, there will be new gear to abtain and play around with.
How does this all fit in?
Currently I have not been able to play a Monk or Necro. This means I have not been able to (already) play 1/3 of GW:P, simply due to different class gear, quests, ect. Add in Factions and that number increases more.
I'm glad some people think that 6 is fine. That's great. I'm glad that people want a PvP slot and trial slots to try out builds. That's wonderful.
The point is really simple. More slots means more fun for me (and many others). I play a game for fun. I bought the game, the content is already there, I just can't access it due to a limitation imposed by Anet. It's already there... no aditional programming for new content, no wasted hours figuring out this or that.
Many replies to this post are all about "6 is fine" or "anyone who wants 8 is a whiner". That's fine by me... still stands though, I (and many others) want 8 slots. No amount of Anet fanboy talk will change that.
I also think this posting has gone a little far. I am in hopes it will close and a new one will open for people who want 8 can post and Anet might see it, rather than a messy debate, like this one has become.
